I can't go back to yesterday because I was a different person then.
Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Location: Gallery of the Senses
Date: TBA

Duration: Day 1- 8 hours, Day 2- 8 hours

Event Details:
The Gallery of the Senses weekend workshop is a sensual two-day workshop where space is created to traverse the journey through the senses in the span of two days.  The major themes of this workshop are developing a deep understanding of intimacy; learning about each of the five senses in a biological, historical, and philosophical context; exploring our "other senses," what they are and how we use them; meditation and the senses; and how becoming a "sensuist," one who rejoices in sensory experiences, invites intimacy within ourselves, with others, and with all inhabitants of our earth.

The workshop setting is less intimate than the one on one coaching process by nature; however, as it is a group project, the benefits of learning from and sharing with the group add a beneficial dimension to the process.  During this intensive workshop, we will have hands on experience sharing intimacy in a small group environment.  We also explore intimacy within nature as a group.

Participants are encouraged to contribute to the following:

  • Group discussions about the nature of intimacy and one's understanding of the senses.

  • Sharing with the group one's personal experiences.

  • Group exercises designed to achieve a better understanding of the human senses individually and cooperatively.

  • Meditations with a focus on the senses.

  • An openness to nature and a desire to linger in nature, allowing the senses to unfold in this most human of environments.

  • The offering of an open mind and a kind heart to help create a safe environment for all where trust is fostered and intimacy is invited and welcome.

All efforts are made to accommodate all abilities. Please note that day 1 involves the climbing of a long stairwell, and day 2 involves traversing through nature.  Please contact Lisa in advance of the workshop if you will need special acomodations.

Meals are provided for day 1.  Please bring a picnic lunch for day 2 in nature.  Transportation is not provided for day 2; however, carpooling is encouraged.

The workshop requires a minimum of 5 participants and a maximum of 12 participants.
